Dancing On Ice has eliminated Matt Richardson from the competition on the same night that he made his debut in the show.
He had the shortest stint in the series of any of this year’s cast, having only just joined as a replacement for Rufus Hound.
Richardson said: “I came in at the last minute, I wasn’t expecting to do any of this, so it’s been a lovely in-and-out experience which most of my life is, really.”
He added: “I’m quite relieved, this is the most horrifying and terrifying and fear-inducing thing I’ve ever done, so I don’t know if I could have done it for another week.”
The comedian continued: “I can’t wait til I’ve got a mulled wine at Christmas around the ice rink being ‘That Guy’ who thinks he can skate.”
The most recent addition to the Dancing On Ice cast lost out in the skate-off to Colin Jackson, with all four judges voting to keep the athlete - although some viewers complained that Richardson should have got a free pass to next week.
Matt & Vicky should have had an automatic pass to next week. Totally unfair to be in dance off if they’ve stepped in to cover #DancingOnIce

#dancingonice so unfair Matt should've been given a free week give him a chance to at least try to catch up a bit more. So out of order. What chance did he have. NONE!!!

The elimination came after a week that has seen two more of the original line-up quit the series - Rufus Hound who has tested positive for coronavirus, and Billie Shepherd who suffered a concussion from a fall in training.
Last week, Denise Van Outen left as she had broken her shoulder in training, and before the series even began pro skater Yebin Mok had to drop out when partner Graham Bell’s skate stabbed her in the leg in a training accident.

Tonight’s show was themed on different styles of dance, with ballet, Paso Doble and swing dance all making appearances.
Although Faye Brooks, Joe-Warren Plant and Lady Leshurr were all joint top of the leaderboard on 32.5 points, many fans complained that Brooks was undermarked for her Swan Lake routine.
Oh my goodness. Undermarked for Faye and Hamish. They were phenomenal! #dancingonice

Viewers were treated to a performance from Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean tonight as the Olympic gold medallists left the judging table to take to the ice with two young skaters.
Next week, Dancing On Ice will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a show featuring love stories on ice.
