Why Ange Postecoglou was raging on Tottenham touchline as Newcastle expose Spurs weakness
It was a chaotic first half in north London as Tottenham went into the break 2-1 down to Newcastle United.
The home side got off to a fantastic start with Dominic Solanke heading in the opener after four minutes. Tottenham supporters' joy was short-lived, however, as Anthony Gordon equalised just two minutes later.
Attempting to play out from the back, Spurs played their way into trouble after Lucas Bergvall's attempted pass hit Joelinton's hand, with the ball falling to Bruno Guimaraes, who subsequently fed through to Gordon to net the equaliser. It went from bad to worse for Tottenham when Alexander Isak tapped home from close range to give the away side the lead at the break.

Ange Postecoglou was visibly angry a number of times throughout the first half, but one moment in particular stood out. Early on in the match, right-back Pedro Porro received the ball under pressure by Newcastle midfielder Joelinton.
Porro simply helped the ball on to a teammate but was clattered by Joelinton after doing so. The right-back was left on the floor in pain and play was eventually stopped so the defender could receive treatment.
When play was stopped, the TV cameras panned to Postecoglou, who was raging. The Australian could be seen shouting and flinging his arms in the air, presumably showing his disgust at the late challenge by Joelinton, who was not shown a yellow card for the tackle.
After receiving treatment, Porro was fine to continue but Postecoglou would have undoubtedly been worried given his side's injury issues. Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert were all absent from the matchday squad on Saturday.
