Why Ed Sheeran left Ipswich vs Liverpool at half-time of Premier League clash
The Premier League has welcomed a star-studded supporter to its ranks as multi-award-winning artist Ed Sheeran rejoiced at Ipswich Town's return to the top division. Sheeran, a lifelong fan of the Tractor Boys, was spotted soaking up the atmosphere during their season opener against Liverpool at Portman Road albeit he had to cut his visit short.
The ever-popular singer had to make an early exit, leaving at half-time, to fulfil his international touring commitments with a gig in Serbia. Despite this, his attendance did not go unnoticed by the press who were thrilled with his presence, as he secured an exclusive interview with former Liverpool forward Peter Crouch for TNT Sports.
Flattered but focused on his music career, Sheeran, who recently became a minority shareholder of his boyhood club after previously sponsoring their shirts, clarified his position within the team's hierarchy. "I have to leave here at half-time because I'm playing in Serbia tonight," he shared, confirming his commitment to both his passions: music and football.

Sheeran did manage to enjoy a good spell of football from Ipswich the newly-promoted side had a solid first half, creating better opportunities than their rivals.
