Why Jakub Kiwior is absent from Arsenal squad for Wolves Premier League opener
Jakub Kiwior has been left out of the squad for Arsenal's Premier League opener against Wolves.
Mikel Arteta has a strong squad to choose from as he kicks off the Gunners' quest to win a first league title in 21 years. The Spaniard has opted for the same starting XI that beat Lyon in the Emirates Cup last week.
That means that Oleksandr Zinchenko keeps his place at left back despite the presence of Riccardo Calafiori on the bench. He's joined there by Jurrien Timber who is fit after overcoming a foot problem.
Absent from the bench however is Kiwior. The Polish international is not understood to be injured, but has instead simply been left out of the squad.
Fabio Vieira is also absent as he continues to recover from a minor hip problem. Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are with the group despite rumours linking them with a move away. Ethan Nwaneri is also on the bench after being left out of the under-21s match with Manchester United on Friday night.
