Why Scott Brown withdrew from St Johnstone next manager process as 2 candidates left
Scott Brown pulled out of the race to become the next St Johnstone manager after learning they would be speaking to two other candidates, according to a report.
Saints had asked Ayr United for permission to speak to their boss and with the 39-year-old keen on exploring the possibility of a step up to the Premiership, that was reluctantly granted. The Celtic legend had discussions with owner Adam Webb but it was revealed last night that he had withdrawn from the race following them.
And the Daily Record is reporting that was because he discovered they would also be talking to Aberdeen first-team coach Peter Leven and Larne boss Tiernan Lynch. Brown preferred not to be part of a competition for the hotseat and will stay at Champions leaders Ayr and concentrate on their promotion charge.

It is claimed at one point yesterday it looked likely the former Hoops, Hibs and Aberdeen midfielder would be heading for Perth and straight into a showdown with his old boss Brendan Rodgers this weekend. But the talks broke down around tea time.
St Johnstone are now awaiting for permission to speak to both Leven and Lynch. Leven did a good job of steadying the Dons as an interim boss on TWO occasions last season while Lynch has won back-to-back Northern Irish league titles.
