Wigan head coach Matt Peet has provided the latest on hooker Sam Powell following his injury sustained against Hull KR.

Powell, 30, left the field early during the club’s 46-4 victory over the Robins at the DW Stadium last Thursday.

He was replaced by youngster Brad O’Neill early in the game, which saw hat-tricks for both Bevan French and Liam Marshall.

“Sam Powell has got an injury to his foot,” Peet told Love Rugby League. “We’re anticipating around a month.

“He’s had his scans so he’s just waiting on a few specialist appointments for more direction on that.

“He’ll feature again this season, we anticipate. But it could be around a month.”

The club will also appeal O’Neill’s two match-ban, which he picked up during a reserves game against Wakefield. The decision will be heard on Tuesday.

The hooker came into contact with the referee and was given a Grade C charge.

Hull KR are hoping to welcome back Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Frankie Halton, Albert Vete, Jimmy Keinhorst and Korbin Sims for Thursday’s home clash with Toulouse. Lachlan Coote will miss out due to a failed HIA during the club’s defeat to Wigan. Interim coach Danny McGuire also all but confirmed that Will Dagger’s season is over with a ruptured achilles.

Castleford will be without Australian utility Jake Mamo for Sunday’s trip to champions St Helens. He failed a HIA in their 32-6 derby defeat to Wakefield on Friday night.

Warrington are waiting on the results on Matt Dufty’s injury. The full-back suffered a foot injury and was sent for scans on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, there are concerns for St Helens winger Regan Grace following the club’s 44-12 defeat at Salford. The rugby union-bound winger left the field in the closing stages without any contact.

Curtis Sironen also picked up an injury for the Saints.
