Willian, David de Gea and Chris Smalling named in Champions League team of the week

Chelsea’s Champions League star Willian has made Uefa’s fantasy team of the week after his heroics in the draw with Barcelona.

The Brazilian struck both posts in the first half, before opening the scoring from range at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte’s side were denied a lead to take into the second leg in March after a mistake from Andreas Christensen let in Lionel Messi, who also makes the team, to score his first career goal against the Blues.

Following a 0-0 draw at Sevilla, Manchester United’s David de Gea, who made a string of fine saves, and teammate Chris Smalling also claim a place in the side, with only the Bundesliga bosting more players than the Premier League.

Five of Jupp Heynckes’ Bayern Munich side make the team, after their 5-0 win over ten-man Besiktas.
