Wilson Isidor is a 'gift' to Sunderland - but it's no surprise to Regis Le Bris
Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris has heaped the plaudits on frontman Wilson Isidor after his impressive start to life on Wearside.
The 48-year-old reckons the on loan striker from Zenit Saint Petersburg “is a gift for us” and he is excited about what more his fellow Frenchman can bring to his Black Cats side..
“It’s a gift for us but I am not surprised,” said Le Bris. “We knew of his ability before we signed him. We weren’t sure about the link he would make with his team or how he would adapt to a new country but immediately it was clear he can make good relationships and have a real impact.
“The Championship is very different to where he was playing but you can see his qualities. He knows there is still progress to make but we are pleased with our striking options.”
With the likes of injured Eliezer Mayenda and Aaron Connolly in the frame, Le Bris has options and he added: “All of our forwards offer something different. We are happy with the squad depth.
“We have a close squad with everyone working at a good level. We know if we have to make changes, we have players ready to go.”
