Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson insisted he did not harbour any resentment towards Swindon for sacking him as his table-topping side remained unbeaten with a 0-0 draw.
The Blades moved to the summit with the stalemate, going above second-place Stevenage on goal difference. Wilson left the Robins in 2011 but denied revenge was on his mind when he took his current side to the County Ground.
He said: "I bear no grudge against Swindon for what happened. I am just pleased with what is happening to my team. The team are confident and trust and believe in each other. It was a team effort from a great group of players.
"It was a good point considering who we were playing, a top side who can take points off anyone. We have a block of matches coming up which gives us a great chance of getting points but we knew this one was going to be difficult.
"I know from my time here that Swindon is a tough place to come and I am sure Swindon will be challenging at the end of the season."
Swindon went closest to breaking the deadlock with Matt Ritchie striking the top of the bar in the second minute and Gary Roberts hitting a post after 54.
Matt Hill and Ryan Flynn headed wide for the Blades who might have snatched a last-minute winner when Neill Collins' effort was blocked on the line.
Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio, who threatened to fine his players after their FA Cup defeat by non-league Macclesfield, once ran two yards on to the pitch to remonstrate with his defence.
The fiery Italian said: "We played much better than we did on Saturday so I am pleased. We deserved to win because we dominated the first half and if we work hard like this every week we can do well in the future. A point is acceptable because we have played against a team who fight hard for every win.
"The transfer embargo has been lifted so I am pleased that I can now sign players, and we do need some. I hope to bring in players to cover our injuries. Overall I feel we played well in defence against a strong team and we kept a clean sheet. I am satisfied."
