Winter Sports

This unrivalled programming is enhanced in 2013 by the Alpine Skiing and Nordic Skiing World Championships, two major highlights of the wintersport season, held once every two years.

New this season: Eurosport is launching Ski Pass, an Alpine Skiing show focusing in each episode on either a great champion or a legendary venue. Ski Pass will also include a special feature with Aksel Lund Svindal, 2007 and 2009 overall World Cup winner, four-time World Champion and 2010 Super-G Olympic Champion. The Norwegian star will share with viewers some moments and experiences from both his glittering career and his personal life.

Ski Pass, presented by Kari Anne Saude, will feature seven episodes, each 13 minutes long (from October to March). In the first episode, to be broadcast on 10 November at 08:30 GMT, Eurosport meets American star Lindsey Vonn, the greatest skier on the women’s circuit: downhill 2010 Olympic Champion, 2009 double World Champion and winner of four of the last five overall World Cups (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011). In another spectacular effort last season, she also won the downhill, Super-G and combined World Cups.

Throughout the course of the World Alpine Skiing Championships in Schladming, Ski Pass will change format and be broadcast on a daily basis. The content will also change as the show will present from Schladming itself a review of the day’s action and welcome the day’s star performer.
