Strap on the skates, pull on your ‘69’ jersey (because it’s hilarious) and borrow your buddy’s Percocet – the first teaser for “Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers” has arrived.

When “Goon” was released in 2011, it reached immediate cult classic status because it wasn’t just a raunchy comedy set in the hockey world; rather, like “Slap Shot” before it, “Goon” was a knowing, winking celebration of the hockey world through the prism of a raunchy comedy. And it was a really sweet movie, too.

Seann William Scott was a revelation as the Doug Glatt, the titular goon. Even better was Liev Schreiber as Ross Rhea, the Probert-esque heavyweight champion of hockey fighting on a collision course with Glatt.

“Goon” was co-written by actor Jay Baruchel (friend of the blog!), but “Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers” is his show: Co-writer and director. Take a gander at the red-band teaser for the flick here.

You don’t really get a sense of the plot, but that’s OK. We just assume it has something to do with him being voted into the NHL All-Star Game…

Back for the second period are “Goon” stars Marc-Andre Grondin as Mike Rib…, um, “Xavier LaFlamme”; the great Kim Coates as Glatt’s coach; and Alison Pill as Glatt’s girlfriend. Elisha Cuthbert joins the cast as Pill’s sister.

Three things we’re excited about:

1 – IMDB lists T.J. Miller as part of the cast. Yes please.

2 – That George Parros “Princeton” joke portends good things for the rest of the NHL cameos.

3 – This man:

Honestly, just give us two hours of Liev Schreiber talking about his favorite hockey fights and then narrating them in his “24/7” voice.

“Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers” arrives in Canadian theaters on March 17, 2017.
