Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Harvey Griffiths has joined EFL League Two side Walsall on a season-long loan deal, freeing up another spot in midfield on Deadline Day.

The 19-year-old makes the short journey down the M6 to continue his progression after making 19 appearances and contributing to eight goals in Premier League 2 last campaign.

Griffiths, who was signed by Wanderers from Manchester City in 2021, has made just one senior appearance so it makes good sense for him to leave for his first loan move.

Although not expected to get many – if any – first team minutes, Griffiths’ exit does leave Wolves with one less midfielder one again but a deal for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is imminent.
