Wolves have reportedly started negotiations to beef up their attacking options, with Benfica forward Haris Seferovic potentially on his way to Molineux.

Newspaper Correio da Manha has revealed that the Portuguese outfit are not counting on the player for next season, leaving the door open for the Premier League side to strike a deal.

The report states that Wolves and Fenerbahce are both showing an interest in the player. However, it’s Bruno Lage who could be closing in on a signing from his old club.

There is some caution though, as Benfica have quoted a price both clubs don’t want to pay.

The report adds that the Eagles are asking for £8.5million for the experienced 30-year-old. But both Wolves and Fenerbahce are only prepared to pay half that price.

Swiss international Seferovic expects to sort his future out in the coming days.

He is not part of new Benfica boss Roger Schmidt’s plans after only scoring five times last season. However, injury problems did play a part in him making only 15 appearances.

Wolves turning their attentions to Portugal again also comes as no surprise. The Molineux outfit have consistently raided the Primeira Liga for top talent over a number of seasons.
