A woman has been charged with assault and “false imprisonment” after allegedly holding two paramedics at knifepoint for 20 minutes.

Police were called to Tudor Close in Gosport, Hampshire, at 5.50pm on Sunday to reports that an ambulance crew were threatened while on a call-out.

A Hampshire police spokesman said that the paramedics “were threatened with a knife and detained in a residential property for around 20 minutes”.

He added in a statement: “Officers were called to Tudor Close after we received a call from our colleagues at South Central Ambulance Service about threats being made to paramedics who were attending a call.

“No-one was hurt and a woman was arrested shortly after we attended.”
