‘This woman is harassing me for breastfeeding my husband’: TikToker shames mom for ‘nasty’ mastitis remedy

A mom shared on TikTok how she remedied her painful mastitis — only to become the target of a relentless TikTok troll.

Jennifer (@jenniferandtoni) gained over 20 million views when she “confessed” to breastfeeding her husband — something that seemed to trigger hateful strangers online.

Now, much like the mom who was accused of “child abuse” for the lunches she packs her 5-year-old, Jennifer has posted a follow-up video to defend herself.

4 mortgage truths that may surprise you

Considering how difficult and perplexing breastfeeding can be — like pumping shockingly pink “strawberry” milk or leaking milk from your armpit — it’s hard to understand how one woman could hate on another for doing whatever it takes to feed a hungry baby.

But that’s exactly what Jennifer encountered when she shared how she remedied her painful mastitis.

Mastitis is defined as the inflammation of breast tissue that sometimes involves an infection. According to the Mayo Clinic, the signs and symptoms of mastitis can appear suddenly and may include:

  • Breast tenderness or warmth to the touch

  • Breast swelling

  • Thickening of breast tissue, or a breast lump

  • Pain or a burning sensation continuously or while breastfeeding

  • Skin redness, often in a wedge-shaped pattern

  • Generally feeling ill

  • Fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit or greater

The main cause of mastitis is milk that has become trapped in the breast. The Mayo Clinic reports that other causes include:

  • A blocked milk duct. If a breast doesn’t completely empty at feedings, one of your milk ducts can become clogged. The blockage causes milk to back up, leading to breast infection.

  • Bacteria entering your breast. Bacteria from your skin’s surface and baby’s mouth can enter the milk ducts through a crack in the skin of your nipple or through a milk duct opening. Stagnant milk in a breast that isn’t emptied provides a breeding ground for the bacteria.

After receiving hateful comments for “days on end” for how she cleared her milk duct, Jennifer filmed a follow-up video to address the angry stranger.

Considering how serious mastitis can be — it can be fatal if left untreatedTikToks like Jennifer’s could be saving lives, even if it triggers some trolls.

Tinashe is calling the shots:

‘How about humans just stop judging others, period!’

TikTokers around the world came to Jennifer’s defense in the comments.

“Pls don’t feel the need to explain yourself to these trolls, they’re not worth your time nor energy 🤍 There’s some valuable knowledge in that video!” one user wrote.

“A good parent does WHATEVER is needed to protect/provide for their family 😘 ignore the negative!!! 🧡,” commented another.

“He literally helped unclog a duct that could have potentially caused a life threatening infection. Nothing nasty about that at all,” wrote another user.

“Mastitis is dangerous if left untreated! I’ve had it 3 times and it’s horrible. Kudos to supportive partners 👏🏼,” one comment read.

“GO MAMA 🙌🏻❤️ you have an awesome husband and forget what everyone else has to say!😊,” replied another.

“How about humans just stop judging others, period!” wrote one user.

While we may never have the remedy for trolls or hateful online comments, there are medical remedies for mastitis — and seeking medical care could just save your life.
