The Women’s Super League will enjoy another high-profile occasion next month with a fixture heading to the Championship’s Summer Bash.
Barrow Raiders will take on Featherstone Rovers at Headingley Stadium as part of the weekend’s event in Leeds. It will be the first time the city has hosted the Summer Bash, having been held in Blackpool since its inception in 2015.
The game will kick-off the action on day two of the Bash, Sunday July 31, at 11:30am. It will be a double header for Barrow fans, as it is followed by the Raiders’ clash with Widnes Vikings in the Championship.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Whitehaven take on Workington while Newcastle Thunder face York City Knights.
Barrow Raiders have made an impressive start to their debut season as Cumbria’s first Women’s Super League representatives under head coach Amanda Wilkinson. They have won two of their first three games.
Featherstone go into this weekend’s games joint-top of Group Two with Warrington and Bradford.
Premier Sports have confirmed that they will show all seven Championship matches during the Bash.
However, the fixture between Whitehaven and Leigh later in July will no longer be shown by Premier Sports. It will revert from Monday night to a Sunday afternoon kick-off (July 24, 3:00pm). Premier Sports are yet to confirm if a fixture will take its place.
