Workington bolster pack with signing from French Elite
League 1 side Workington have made two new signings, with one of them being a Scotland representative who arrives from the French Elite 1 Championship.
Prop forward Terrill has been plying his trade for Villeneuve in the French Elite 1 Championship this season.
Terrill, who has represented Scotland at student and academy level, is no stranger to Workington, having played on loan there from Barrow last season.
The 21-year-old will link up with Workington for the rest of the 2023 League 1 season.
Terrill has experience of playing in the Championship and League 1 with Barrow, North Wales, Midlands, Workington and West Wales.
Meanwhile, Workington have also confirmed the re-signing of Hanley Dawson on a deal for the remainder of the season.
Dawson made 26 appearances for Town between 2020-22. He made two appearances for Barrow in 2023, but will spend the rest of the year with Workington.
“Hanley is a familiar face to you all and we’d like to welcome him back to Derwent Park,” a club statement read.
Elsewhere in Championship and League 1: Whitehaven and Rochdale in loan swap deal
Championship club have signed Sam Haynes on loan from League 1 side Rochdale, with prop Daniel Spencer-Tonks going the other way.
Both players will be out on loan for two weeks, with both clubs having a 48-hour recall period for the remainder of the loan.
Haynes came through the ranks at Super League champions St Helens before linking up with the Hornets ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Spencer-Tonks linked up with Haven ahead of this season from Salford’s reserves.
Whitehaven coach Jonty Gorley said: “Dan leaves the club to get some game time and needs to be playing and we’ve got experienced middles in front of Dan at the moment.
“When this deal come up it works well for us as we are desperate for an outside back and Dan gets the game time he needs.
“Sam has come through a fantastic structure at St Helens and has played England Academy so we’re looking forward to see what he can do.”
