'The world is against us' - Tim Walter's Hull City admission ahead of Sheffield Wednesday clash
Tim Walter says it's up to him and his players to battle out of their worrying predicament which sees Hull City mired in the Championship's relegation zone and with the German boss believing the world is against his team at the moment.
Saturday's 1--0 loss at Luton Town saw City drop into the bottom three for the second time this season, with the Hatters leapfrogging them and out of immediate danger as they inflicted a third straight defeat on the out-of-form Tigers.
City, however, have the chance to end an eight-game winless run when they host Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday night looking for just a second home win of the campaign.

That defeat at Kenilworth Road saw Walter jeered again by the away fans, claiming he didn't go to applaud their backing because he was wet, but in truth, it was a game his side should never have lost with Joao Pedro passing up a glorious chance in each half to turn the game in City's favour, and that only added to his annoyance.
Walter remains defiant about his position, while calling on his players to show a greater ruthless edge in the final third, and add to their 16 goals, which is now one of the lowest tallies in the league.
"The game was good from our side, but at the end we lost and that's not what we wanted to have over there," Walter told Hull Live. "I saw the in their faces what they are doing in themselves and that's for me important that the philosophy we play, they are cementing and you can't deny the progress. All we need is maybe a bit of luck and all we need is to take the moment in the right direction."
While the fans have made their frustration clear, Walter says his players are sharing in that frustation but he believes they are doing everything to get out of the mire.
"They're frustrated for sure," he said. "Everybody's frustrated like the fans, everybody's frustrated about the result because if you're playing like that and if you create a lot of chances and you defend it well, sometimes life is not fair but we have to accept it and all we can do is to look forward and not find excuses.
"We have to be more precise in everything we are doing. We have to be more ruthless in everything what we are doing. But in Germany, it's a phrase, and it's really the truth. The round circle must enter the rectangle and that's all we need.
"We work every day, and we're trying to fight against the situation and maybe everything that is against us at the moment. All we can do is to fight, to work against anything else, maybe against the whole world. It's fine for us because life is not easy, and you have to work."
Walter doesn't accept his job as a manager has become more difficult in recent weeks, instead suggesting City's problems create a different type of opportunity.
"No, it makes everything more interesting because then you have to find new ways," he explained. "You have to have to fight more, you have to work more, you have to find more balances, you have to fight more against the world, and that's more interesting than if everything is working, then you don't have to do that because everything is running and that's just half of the truth because then you have to work even harder. If you have this situation like we have, we have to accept, and then we have to change it."
It's the second time this season Walter will have come up against his compatriot in Danny Rohl, having seen his side beaten by the Owls' second string in the first round of the Carabao Cup in early August, though it's a result which still annoys the City head coach.
"If you remember this game, we should also win this game because we scored twice, and they both were regular goals, but that's also the truth. We lost because, maybe also in this case, we were unlucky because of no VAR, though we have to accept it."
City have no fresh injury worries from the weekend, but will almost certainly have Steven Alzate back in the squad after recovering from injury, while Kasey Palmer is pushing for a first home start after impressing off the bench on Saturday. The Tigers will be without long-term absentees Carl Rushworth, Liam Millar, Mohamed Belloumi and Oscar Zambrano.
