What is it?

Russia and Uruguay meet in the final group game to decide who will top Group A. Should they draw, the host nation of the World Cup 2018 will win Group A due to their superior goal difference - an unexpected feat considering they are the lowest-ranked team at the tournament.

When is it?

Monday, June 25.

What time is kick-off?

3pm BST

What TV channel is it on?

The match will be broadcast on ITV 4.

Where is the game being played?

Samara Arena, Samara

World Cup 2018 stadium: Samara Arena
World Cup 2018 stadium: Samara Arena

What is the team news?

Athletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez will likely sit out the fixture for Uruguay with a thigh injury. Luis Suarez will be looking to make more of an impact than his initial two appearances this tournament.

Russia's Denis Cheryshev is a golden boot contender, with three goals in his side's first two fixtures, and he'll try to improve on that to push the team to the top of the table.

What's the latest news on the two teams?

The Russia team have raised some eyebrows with their impressive statistics, out-running every other team in competition over the first two games. They have repeatedly refused to reveal how many drugs tests they have undergone ahead of the World Cup.

When asked about how the team was performing so impressively, the Russia team doctor was defensive.

“Those who ask why we run like this should call on their fans to come to the tournament and support their own team more actively," he said.

"Then nothing will hinder them.”

Uruguay have had less of the controversy so far, but neither of their 1-0 wins have been convincing.

What are the odds?

Uruguay to win 13/8

Russia to win 21/10

Draw 21/10

What's our prediction?

Russia have exceeded all expectations not only in qualifying for the knock-out stage, but by scoring eight goals and covering the most ground of any team. However, Uruguay's quality up front with Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani should give them the edge.

Prediction: Uruguay 1-0 Russia
