Loew, who took over as coach of Die Mannschaft in 2006, guided the German national side to the final of Euro 2008, the semi-finals of World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 before finally achieving success in World Cup 2014 as his side edged Argentina 1-0 to be crowned world champions.
Much speculation surrounded Loew's future following the World Cup triumph in Brazil, but the 54-year-old has confirmed that he will stay on as coach until after Euro 2016.
Having been asked by the DFB if he was to continue as coach, Loew responded: "Yes, at the moment I can't imagine something more beautiful than to continue working with this team, to lead it to the European Championship in France, to develop the team and single players even further.
"I'm as motivated as I was on my first day here at the DFB. We celebrated a gigantic success in Brazil, but there are still other things that we want to achieve. The 2014 World Cup was a highlight for all of us, but it is not the end."
