The Juventus midfielder will focus on his club career in Turin after signing a two-year extension with the Serie A champions.

Pirlo, 35, has made 109 appearance for the Azzurri, and helped them win the World Cup in 2006 when they overcame France on penalties.

"I think I will stop after the World Cup," Pirlo told reporters in Manaus.

"I'm not getting any younger and you have to allow younger players to come through. It would be useless to keep on going."

Pirlo is expected to be at the heart of the Italian side when they open their campaign against England in Group D on Saturday evening.
