The Portuguese captain's fitness has been a cause of concern throughout the tournament but he will start as expected.

Up front Helder Postiga is the surprise choice to lead the line with Eder left on the bench while William Carvalho has again failed to make the starting line-up.

Sporting Kansas City player Graham Zusi comes in the United States starting line-up for the injured Jozy Altidore.

He is expected to play on the left with Clint Dempsey acting as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation.
