The Dane, who went into the weekend as championship leader, started from pole position but following a report by the technical delegate, stewards found his car to be in breach of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series Technical Regulations

He had contravened a rule that "anything not explicitly and expressly authorised by the Technical Regulations is prohibited".

The team of the driver concerned, DAMS, confirmed its intention to appeal against the decision.

Arden Caterham's Da Costa claimed victory ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne (Fortec Motorsports) and André Negrao (International Draco Racing).
