Peter McGrail believes there is every chance he could produce another jaw-dropping knockout blow when he takes on Dennis McCann next month. McGrail makes his return to the ring to take on McCann on the undercard of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on Saturday, December 21.

The two will fight for McCann’s British and European super-bantamweight titles at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. McGrail emphatically knocked out Brad Foster when he landed a left uppercut to the body in round number two of their contest in September, and he believes there is a chance history could repeat itself given the way McCann likes to start fights.

“For me personally, it couldn’t have come at a better time,” he said. “I have just come out of the best camp I have done since turning pro.

“I was in the best shape physically and mentally that I have been in. I have come straight out of that and probably with my best win as well.

“I put a bit of a statement on and got Brad Foster out of there within two rounds. I’m a better fighter and I believe I am a better fighter in all aspects.

"Alright, he might have been a little bit more experienced as a pro, but I believe over an actual boxing career, amateur and pro, he hasn’t got half the experience I have got.

“Whether it be training camps or major tournaments, you know ups and downs. Travelling away from home, I just believe I am better. I’m cleverer, sharper, stronger and fitter.

“I believe if it is points, it will be a wide points victory, but I know he starts fast, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he walked on to one early.”

McCann won the vacant European super-bantamweight title in July with a unanimous decision win over Ionut Baluta after beating Brad Strand in March, and he believes people don't realise just how good he is.

“It’s probably one of the biggest fights in Britain, I think,” he said. I’m not overlooking Peter McGrail. He’s a good fighter, but he’s just not as good as me, and I’m going to show that. I can’t wait to show people what I’m about.

"I’ve got a bit of a target on my back. I’ve got a few people who want to beat me, don’t they? They all think they can beat me, but until they get in there and get punched in the face, they don’t understand what 'The Menace' is about and how strong 'The Menace' is. They don’t understand how good I am.”
