WRC - Ostberg promises flat-out approach

Mads Ostberg says he is ready to throw caution to the wind in an effort to get his first season as a factory driver back on track at the Rally d'Italia later this month.

On his first six rallies last season, Ostberg only finished outside the top four once - when he was fifth in Finland.

This year, however, he has only finished in the top four once in the same number of rallies.

He suffered a water leak in Sweden and an alternator issue in Mexico and then crashed in Portugal and incurred suspension damage in Argentina and last week in Greece.

Ostberg said: "It's been a tough rally and a tough start to the year, but now I don't care, now I will just go flat out all the time and flat out until I get to the finish."

Ostberg's Qatar M-Sport team principal Malcolm Wilson added: "Last year, Mads had no issues and he was always showing good solid pace, but this year he has

upped his pace and when you up your pace then things can happen.

"I'm not concerned, Mads is in a good place and I know that – it's still about the learning."

The Cumbrian added that the broken wheel, which ruled Ostberg out of contention on the Acropolis, had come as a result of a stage-one impact.
