Birmingham City’s first trip to Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground since 1994 will be screened live on Sky Sports.

The EFL’s broadcast partner has selected the return match between Wrexham and Blues after receiving huge viewing figures when the two teams met at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park in September. Blues came from behind to run out 3-1 winners in front of an A-List line-up of guests.

Blues’ trip to Wrexham was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 25 but the game has been moved forward to Thursday, January 23 and given an 8pm kick-off time. The two fixtures either side of the Wrexham game will remain unchanged with Blues hosting Exeter City on January 18 and travelling to Huddersfield Town on January 28.

Blues haven't visited Wrexham since they last competed in the third tier back in 1994. That game was played in front of just 6,000 fans and ended 1-1.

The Huddersfield game will also be available to supporters on Sky and will now kick-off at 8pm, rather than the original time of 7:45pm. The match at Reading on Saturday, February 22 has also been chosen for television coverage and will now begin at 12:30pm.

As part of the new broadcasting deal, a minimum of 20 Blues games will be screened on Sky Sports this season.
