In Shanghai “Alex” Liu Lic Ka will be at the wheel of a BMW 320si powered by the 2.0-litre normally aspirated engine.

This is the very same car that was driven by Masaki Kano at Suzuka and that will be entrusted to Joseph Rosa Merszei in Macau.

Liu, a race winner in the Macau and Asian Touring Car Championships, faces his second appearance in the WTCC, after he took part in the Macau event in 2009.

Another Chevrolet Cruze powered by the two-litre normally aspirated engine will compete in Shanghai, meanwhile, in the hands of Hong Kong driver Eric Kwong Hoi Fung.

Kwong and his Cruze, run by the Look Fong Racing Team, have dominated this year’s Hong Kong Touring Car Championship, claiming the title in the Super 2000 class with five victories out of the series’ eight rounds.

In the previous seasons, the 30-year old Kwong has also raced successfully in the China Formula Campus Championship, the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific and the Audi R8 Cup China.
