WTCC cars remained in their garages while a series of rainstorms hit the region, flooding the racetrack and the paddock under several centimetres of water.
The 30-minute test session that was due to take place this afternoon from 14:00 to 14:30 local time was cancelled, and so were all the sessions of the support series: Auto GP, Clio Cup and FRMSA.
Weather forecast for the rest of the weekend predicts sunshine and warm temperatures, meaning that track activities should be no longer affected.
The WTCC test will not be rescheduled and competitors will start running in the first free practice session.
As a consequence of the timetable’s rescheduling, qualifying will be delayed by 60 minutes and will kick off at 15:30 local time instead of 14:30. The 45-minute session will be aired live on Eurosport 1.
The competitors will start running in the first free practice session at 9:00; the second free practice will take place at 12:15. Sunday’s timetable remains unchanged.
