The first press conference took place in the morning at Vienna, while the second one followed in the afternoon at the racetrack.
Salzburgring manager Alex Reiner said: “We are very much looking forward to hosting the World Touring Car Championship for the second time after last year.
“Thanks to its impressive TV coverage worldwide, this event attracts a lot of attention to the City of Salzburg and Austria.
“If the weather is fine, we are confident we can attract again many thousands of fans from Austria, Germany and the neighbouring countries.”
“Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s manager Kurt Treml and driver/principal Franz Engstler were guest stars at the press conference.
“I like the Salzburgring very much,” said Engstler who has fully recovered from last Sunday’s incident at the Hungaroring.
I live only around 200km away and so you could actually say that it is my home race. It’s a high-speed circuit with high-speed corners, but some are really tricky so it’s a good track for drivers.
“It’s also great for spectators. We will have over 300 guests there from Liqui Moly, a lot of guys from my company and a lot of friends too. I will feel the pressure but I will do my best like in every race,”
The event will also include the third race meeting of the FIA European Touring Car Cup.
