WWE Payback 2017: Start time, card, matches, predictions, updates, rumors

Sporting News

The first pay-per-view event since WrestleMania 33 could be a game-changer for the WWE landscape.

Well, not really.

WWE has decided to pull the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton match, thus further complicating and confusing the feud between the two. Any hope at leaving some unpredictability within the next few months of booking is out the window.

The Orton-Wyatt feud has been convoluted since the start of the year — a rare misstep for "SmackDown" booking — and culminated in an entirely lackluster WrestleMania 33 match. With no one knowing what exactly a "House of Horrors" match is, hopefully Orton-Wyatt 2 can wash out the bad taste of their first encounter at 'Mania.

With no Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Universal Championship, this is probably a pass for most wrestling fans.
