Crystal Palace v Hull City

Wilfried Zaha
Wilfried Zaha

This is a huge game with both sides fighting for their Premier League lives. If Hull can get the three points, both teams will go into the final game of the season faced with the prospect of going down.

Palace have lost their last three, the latest a 5-0 hammering from Manchester City last weekend but I expect relegation survival expert Sam Allardyce to have his players ready for this one. Christian Benteke (£22) has failed to score in his last three appearances but he did hit five in five before that and I’m hopeful for a goal or two from the Belgian on Sunday. Wilf Zaha (£18) has gone quiet in recent weeks as well but on his day, he’s explosive and I fancy him against a Hull side who struggle away from home. Patrick van Aanholt (£13) is one of my all-time favourites when it comes to defenders in fantasy football. He spends more time attacking than he does defend and knows where the goal is.

I don’t see Hull offering many fantasy points this weekend. The only two Tigers I’ll be considering are defender Harry Maguire (£13) and forward Kamil Grosicki (£18). Maguire is a towering centre-half who is a huge threat from set pieces while Grosicki is Hull’s creator-in-chief who commands set piece situations.

West Ham v Liverpool

Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho

West Ham stunned us all last Friday night, beating Spurs 1-0 which effectively ended the title race. The Hammers have been extremely poor this season but Slaven Bilic will want to finish strongly with his job potentially on the line. Liverpool need a win to cement their chances of securing a Champions League spot.

West Ham have a long injury list with key figures Michail Antonio, Andy Carroll, Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate ruled out for the rest of season. I can see them struggling against the Reds so I’ll be avoiding their players this weekend. The only Hammer who might force his way into my team is Manuel Lanzini (£18). The Argentinian has been a shining light in a poor West Ham team, popping up with the winner against Spurs.

Philippe Coutinho (£26) will be the first name on my team sheet on Sunday. The Brazilian has scored ten league goals despite missing a chunk of the season through injury. He doesn’t need a second invitation to shoot which is what us fantasy managers like in a player. Roberto Firmino (£25) is another good option this weekend if he starts in the false nine position. There are some doubts over his fitness so keep an eye out for the team news. Adam Lallana (£19) offers a cheaper route into the Liverpool attack and he’s looked sharp on his return from injury. Klopp’s charges have registered three clean sheets in their last four games so it’s worth including a Red’s defender in your line-up. Joel Matip (£15) has impressed me this season and he always looks threatening from corners.

Spurs v Manchester United

This fixture is a bit of a dead rubber now with Chelsea confirmed as champions and United prioritising the Europa League. Both managers could give fringe players a run-out.

Jose Mourinho has said that defender Eric Bailly (£13) will play the remainder of United’s league games as he’s suspended for the Europa League final. Wayne Rooney (£19) is also likely to feature.

Harry Kane (£28) is still running for the golden boot so it’s unlikely that he’ll be rotated and I wouldn’t be surprised if he scores a goal or two against a weakened United. Christian Eriksen (£25) and Dele Alli (£23) have been superb this season and are great options for this one if they start. Spurs still boast the best defensive record in the league with just 23 goals conceded in 35 matches. It amazes me that Toby Alderweireld (£16) hasn’t scored a Premier League goal this season. He’s due.
