Yahoo Sport UK has teamed up with Bet4Causes to bring you a preview of the day’s British racing – and The Night Hawk marks your card.

Each day we will mark your card, providing a preview of the day’s racing and offering what the experts feel will be the value bets of the day.

Take a look at our Lucky 15 selections (four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a four-fold) for the British meetings on Monday, December 5, 2016.

LUCKY 15 SELECTIONS

SPANISH FLEET (Ayr 1.45) was rates as high as 133 over hurdles in the spring of 2015 but three runs last term were disappointing and his mark dropped to 120. A change of scenery may have helped rekindle his enthusiasm, as his two runs this term for George Bewley over fences have been relatively promising. He was a fair third to Tikkandemickey at Carlisle over 2m4f in October and followed that with a close-up fourth to Palm Grey over the same course and distance. He has had just three previous tries over fences and remains unexposed. The 2m2f handicap chase does not offer a great deal of depth, so he should go well under man-of the-moment Brian Hughes.

NICOLAS CHAUVIN (Ludlow 2.40) got off the mark over fences at the third time of asking at Huntingdon in May. He has had four subsequent attempts in relatively decent races and showed his liking for quicker ground when chasing home I’dliketheoption here over the same 2m trip that he tackles today. He was a little keen last time in his usual hood, and tended to jump out to the left but he is suited by the sharp track, if not the hold-up tactics employed last time. He tackles five rivals and should be in the mix when it matters again.

JONAGOLD (Ludlow 12.30) has been knocking on the door this autumn in novice and handicap hurdle company, and may be able to break his duck under Rules in the extended 1m7½f claiming hurdle. Runner-up at Uttoxeter, Newton Abbot and Fakenham in recent weeks, he was not beaten far by Taroum in a selling handicap hurdle last time, when sporting cheekpieces. However, heavy rain meant that he did not have his ideal conditions, and he should be more at home this time in what looks a very weak 10-runner affair.

PEACEFUL PASSAGE (Lingfield Park 11.50) may be worth a second glance in the 1m2f maiden, which kicks off an interesting eight-race card at Lingfield Park. The John Gosden-trained daughter of War Front was an easy-to-back sixth of 16 to Original Choice at Redcar (7f), despite showing promise. She clearly put that experience to good use when chasing home Time To Study at Chelmsford over 1m2f last time, and although she had the run of the race, she was a fair way clear of the third home. She stays at the same trip and as long as she can overcome a tricky draw in stall 12, should go well for Robert Havlin.
