Each day we will mark your card, providing a preview of the day’s racing and offering what the experts feel will be the value bets of the day.

Take a look at our Lucky 15 selections (four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a four-fold) for the British meetings on Tuesday, January 16, 2017.

LUCKY 15 SELECTIONS

STARCHITECT (Ayr 2.20) is a 143-rated hurdler who has found the transition to chasing a little more taxing. In two starts in fair novice events, he has finished third to A Hare Breath at Bangor and in the same position behind Baron Alco in a better race at Plumpton over 2m1f. There is no question the David Pipe-trained six-year-old would prefer better ground and a longer trip than he gets here in the 1m7½f novices’ chase but this is a slight drop in class and most of his five rivals are equally inexperienced. He will be better when he goes handicapping, but he may well be worth siding with if he runs anywhere near his hurdle rating.

DE DOLLAR MAN (Ayr 1.15) hold a serious chance of following up his Uttoxeter success in the 2m4½f maiden hurdle for Evan Williams and jockey Paul Moloney. The Irish point-to-point winner who was purchased for £75,000, duly scored on his bumper debut, drawing well clear of a few moderate rivals in heavy ground last month. Visually, at least, he left the impression that he could be quite decent and would be better over obstacles in due course. He handles the ground and that may be key as he makes his hurdling debut.

CASPER KING (Exeter 3.50) has been runner-up in all but one of his seven starts in bumper and over hurdles for Philip Hobbs. While expensive to follow, he has been campaigned in some fair novice hurdles and has twice been touched off in his last three runs. Though he did nothing wrong when going down by half a length to Geordie Des Champs at Chepstow in October, he was left at the start at Taunton last time and could be considered a little unfortunate not to have broken his duck, as he finished a quarter of a length behind Volpone Jelois. He is worthy of respect as he takes on 12 rivals in the extended 2½m maiden hurdle.

MUNRO (Kempton Park 3.40) left his debut form well behind when bolting up in a 6f maiden, making all here in November. Ralph Beckett’s Kyllachy three-year-old was unable to adopt the same font-running tactics in a subsequent nursery at Lingfield last month, but found plenty for pressure to score narrowly off a mark of 79. He has a little to find with Sutter County, Visionary and Tomily on official ratings in the six-runner 6f conditions stakes, but Adam Kirby’s mount is improving and is among the least exposed. He may represent a little value.
