Yahoo Sport UK’s horse racing Lucky 15 – Monday’s top selections

Yahoo Sport UK has teamed up with Bet4Causes to bring you a preview of the day’s British racing – and The Night Hawk marks your card.

Each day we will provide you with a preview of the day’s racing, offering what the experts feel will be the value bets of the day.

Take a look at our Lucky 15 selections (four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a four-fold) for the British and Irish meetings on Monday, July 4, 2016.

LUCKY 15 SELECTIONS

SIR EDWIN LANDSEER (Roscommon 5.55) can make it third time lucky by getting off the mark in the 7f maiden. The Galileo colt stepped up on his debut third at Leopardstown with a runner-up placing at Gowran Park last month. He was accorded something of a sift lead but did not particularly relish the soft ground and could not respond to Intricately’s winning kick. The winner was trained by Joseph O’Brien, but while he saddles the twice-raced Pronounced in this, his father, Aidan, should be the one in the winner’s enclosure today.

CASINO MARKETS (Worcester 2.30) won on just his third start over fences when scoring in a handicap chase at Stratford off a mark of 110. Emma Lavelle’s eight-year-old, who had suffered a couple of leg problems earlier which kept him off for a year, was brushed aside by Easy Street on his last appearance at Uttoxeter off a mark of 116. Now 4lb higher, he is forced to go up in class for this 2m4f handicap chase. He does get weight from his rivals, however, and as long as the ground does not deteriorate (he prefers top of the ground), the selection has enough improvement in him to be in the shake-up.

EQUALLY FAST (Windsor 7.35) is a speculative choice for a competitive 5f handicap. William Muir’s four-year-old has won four of his last seven starts and has risen 7lb as a result, following his latest win on the Polytrack at Lingfield in April. He does not look the most straightforward customer and three of his four wins have come on the all-weather. However, his sole turf win came here on good ground and Martin Dwyer’s mount overcame a difficult draw that day to score.

CAUSEY ARCH (Ayr 3.50) won with something to spare at Musselburgh over a mile recently on only his sixth start. Michael Dods’s representative had the measure of Toffee Apple that day and while he had the run of the race, he should still confirm that form. Though he steps up to 1m1f today, he went close over it in first-time cheekpieces on his penultimate start and while the form is not particularly strong, neither is this low-grade handicap.
