Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes set to participate in Monster Energy BIG3 Celebrity Game as part of championship weekend

The BIG3 is going big. As part of the league's championship weekend, it will hold its first-ever All-Star Game and a Celebrity Game benefiting underprivileged youth.

Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Chris Haynes will participate in the Monster Energy BIG3 Celebrity Game at 2 p.m. ET Sunday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The game will air on CBS on Sept. 4.

The two Celebrity Game teams will be coached by Ice Cube (captain, Rob Gronkowski) and Clyde Drexler (captain, Nelly).

Haynes will be joined by other Celebrity Game participants: Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis; Crissa Jackson (former Harlem Globetrotter); Miro (AEW wrestler); recording artists Ozuna, NLE Choppa and Miky Woodz; Matt James (from "The Bachelor") and Wallo and Gillie (podcast hosts).

The BIG3 also will hold its All-Star Game following the Celebrity Game at 4 p.m. ET and cap the day off with the BIG3 championship game at 5 p.m. ET.

The All-Star Game will air on CBS and Paramount+, starting at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Julius Erving will coach one team of Michael Beasley (3’s Company); Deshawn Stephens (Aliens); Gerald Green (Bivouac); Mario Chalmers (3’s Company); Mike Taylor (Ghost Ballers); and Dusan Bulut (Aliens). The other team, coached by George Gervin, consists of Kevin Murphy (3 Headed Monsters); Isaiah Austin (Enemies); Jason Richardson (Tri State); Jodie Meeks (Ball Hogs); Donte Greene (Killer 3’s); and Jeremy Pargo (Triplets).

Trilogy and Power will play for the 2022 BIG3 championship. It will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday.
