New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia appears to be recovering well from his offseason surgery.
The Yankees left-hander underwent a scheduled follow-up stress test on Tuesday and was cleared to begin working out, the team announced.
With the clearance, Sabathia will be permitted to resume baseball activities.
Sabathia had experienced symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn and decided to get it checked out.
He later had a procedure in December after doctors discovered he had a blockage in one of the arteries leading to his heart.
The 38-year-old is not expected to miss any time and will report with the Yankees' pitchers and catchers in mid-February.
