Yankees send 3B Andujar to minors

The New York Yankees have optioned third baseman Miguel Andujar to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the team announced Sunday.

The move ends a battle between Andujar and Brandon Drury to start the season at third base.

Andujar hit .262 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in spring training, but will get time to work on his defense in the minors.

Drury, picked up by the Yankees in a trade last month, hit .271 with 31 home runs and 124 RBIs in three MLB seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Yankees also sent down center fielder Estevan Florial, who is likely to open the season at High A or Double A.
