Liverpool youngster Yasser Larouci is set to depart Anfield this summer.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Reds from Le Havre in 2017, is attracting interest from Leeds United and Brentford ahead of a likely transfer.

Discussions have already been held with both Championship clubs over a player who is keen to leave Merseyside in pursuit of regular football.

And, with just one year remaining on his contract, he is likely to be available for a cut-price fee.

Initially signed as a winger, Larouci was quickly converted into a forward-thinking left-back by Liverpool’s academy coaches.

It was in that position that he helped the Reds to FA Youth Cup glory last term and made his two senior appearances for the club in the FA Cup this season.

However, he has otherwise found first-team opportunities hard to come by due to the form of Andy Robertson and regular use of James Milner as a back-up in that position.

Liverpool recently signed another academy left-back, Adam Lewis, up to a new long-term contract.

Larouci’s departure is not, however, expected to prompt a change of plans for Lewis, who is set to head out on loan next season.
