YORK City will begin their 2024/25 Vanarama National League campaign with a trip to the seaside, taking on Southend United.

The National League fixtures for the 2024/25 season have been confirmed this afternoon, with a visit to Southend being how York will open up their campaign.

A competitive return to the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, August 17 (3pm) will see City host newly-promoted Tamworth, who were the Vanarama National League North champions last campaign.

The Minstermen will then host their first Tuesday night match of the competition on Tuesday, August 21, when Rochdale visit North Yorkshire for a 7.45pm kick-off.

They will have to wait until Tuesday, September 24 for their first Tuesday night match on the road, when making the trip to Solihull Moors, where they ended their campaign in the 2023/24 season.

York will be racking up the miles early into the campaign, with London trips to Sutton United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Wealdstone and Aldershot Town all within City’s opening five away matches.

Monday, August 26 (3pm), sees York host newly-promoted Boston United in their first Bank Holiday clash for the season.

York’s Boxing Day match will see City make the trip to Oldham Athletic, having played against Gateshead in their previous two National League seasons, for a 3pm kick-off in Lancashire.

Adam Hinshelwood’s side will begin 2025 with a home match against Gateshead on Wednesday, January 1 (3pm).

The National League have also confirmed that this year’s competition will end at the later date of Monday, May 5 (3pm) with York making the long journey down to the Silverlake Stadium, where they will take on Eastleigh.

Other notable fixtures include a Yorkshire derby on Saturday, October 26 (3pm), when City will visit FC Halifax Town.

Trips to newly-promoted Yeovil Town and Braintree Town will take place in back-to-back weekends, from Saturday March 15 (3pm) and Saturday, March 22 (3pm).
