Yves Bissouma hopes to fulfil Champions League 'dream' as Tottenham deal is completed

·2-min read

Yves Bissouma, who made 112 Premier League appearances over four years at Brighton, completed his move to north London on Friday and immediately set his sights on playing in the Champions League.

The midfielder has signed a four-year deal with Tottenham after the club splashed £25million on his signature.

The deal could potentially rise to £35million, with Spurs and Brighton agreeing to £10million in add-ons.

Bissouma is the third man to arrive at the club this summer, following Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Upon signing, he told the club's website: "I'm very happy to be here, happy to be a Spurs player and hopefully we're going to have a good season.

"I'm going to give everything to try to win every game, to stay at the top. But, as everyone knows, the Premier League is not easy. We're going to work really hard to keep the ambition high."

Looking ahead to working with Italian manager Antonio Conte, the player added: "We have a good group, and a great coach, everyone knows him. I know I can pass this step with him. I know he will help me more to be what I want to be and try to help the team as well. I'm very happy to play with him."

With Spurs sealing a top four finish last season, the club will make their Champions League return. Bissouma is filled with excitement at the prospect of playing in Europe's elite club competition. He said: "It's my dream, to play Champions League. I remember when I was younger, I watched the Champions League every day. "I can't believe (I'm going) to play Champions League with Spurs. I'm so happy, I just want to say thank you my mum, my dad and my agent here, thank you everyone, thank you to Spurs as well."
