Tottenham have reportedly agreed a fee with Brighton for the signing of Yves Bissouma, following a recent claim the two clubs are at odds over his value.

Bissouma made 28 appearances for Brighton during the most recent campaign, registering two goals and two assists from central midfield. His top performances helped Graham Potter’s side finish ninth in the Premier League. They picked up 51 points, making it their best ever Premier League finish.

According to a report from the Daily Mail on Tuesday morning, Tottenham have begun talks with Brighton over Bissouma’s potential transfer.

The 25-year-old will soon enter the final 12 months of his contract and a renewal is unlikely, making this summer Brighton’s best chance to sell for a premium fee.

The report stated Spurs and Brighton were in disagreement over Bissouma’s value, however.

The Seagulls were said to want £30million, although Spurs were hoping to negotiate this price down.

The Times come in with a big update, and it contradicts that of the Daily Mail.

The new report claims Spurs have agreed a deal with Potter’s side for Bissouma’s signature. The north London outfit are preparing to pay £25m.

Spurs getting a top player in Yves Bissouma

This represents a good deal as Bissouma has proven his Premier League ability. And he should only get better when playing alongside elite stars.

Brighton have previously put his value at £50m, but his contract situation means this is no longer viable. As a result, Spurs can pick him up for half the price.

And to make Spurs fans even more excited, the club is ‘confident’ about agreeing personal terms with the Mali international.

Plus, Spurs chiefs are already organising a medical for the star. This could happen as early as this week if personal terms are sorted with no problems.

Spurs have brought in Ivan Perisic and Fraster Forster so far, both on free transfers. Bissouma could soon follow them, but this time for a transfer fee.

It would be a great signing for Antonio Conte as he prepares his team for Champions League football next season. Bissouma will be brought in to compete with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur for a starting place.

Brighton, meanwhile, have little choice but to sell this summer. If they reject all approaches then one of their best players in Bissouma could walk away for nothing next year, when his contract runs out.

Brighton are always clever with their transfer dealings and already have replacements lined up. Enock Mwepu and Moises Caicedo look set to step up, should Bissouma go.

Meanwhile, Spurs talisman Harry Kane has spoken about the Golden Boot race ahead of next season.
