Ze Maria spoilt for choice ahead of Sony Sugar tie

K’Ogalo outclassed Ingwe in 'Mashemeji' derby played on Sunday

Gor Mahia head coach Ze Maria is impressed with the competition among the players in his team ahead of their match against Sony Sugar.

The Green Army have started the season relatively well, winning three of the four matches played, and the team is currently on top of the table with nine points. The Brazilian is also wary of the threat posed by the likes of Ulinzi Stars and AFC Leopards in the title race.

AFC Leopards risk paying interests on Minnaert’s arrears

"I’m very happy with what I’m seeing in the team, the competition is high and everyone wants to play. We need this spirit in order to effectively challenge the silverware. It is not going to be easy, we have the likes of AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars who have started the season well, and they will definitely be a threat.

"The team should remain consistent this season, it is good for our confidence, and competition in the league as well," he told Goal.

The 15-times league champions will play against Sony Sugar on Friday at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
