Zimbabwe has announced their white-ball squad for the series against Ireland and Scotland with the big names of Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, and Sean Williams returning. Zimbabwe is likely to have a jam-packed schedule cricket tour to Ireland and Scotland with not many rest days in between the games.

Zimbabwe lost the three-match ODI series 0-3 against Bangladesh and also the T20I Series 1-2 against Bangladesh which was their last series. Sikandar Raza captained the side against Bangladesh as Brendan Taylor was rested while Craig Ervine and Sean Williams had to miss out due to Covid-19 issues.

Zimbabwe Retain Most Of The Players From The Bangladesh Series

Zimbabwe announced the 18 man squad for Ireland and Scotland series and apart from the return of the senior players, all other players were retained from the previous Bangladesh series. Zimbabwe despite being one of the Test-playing nations was suspended from taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 by the ICC after breaching the code of conduct and Namibia replaced them for the T20 Worldcup qualifiers.

Zimbabwe’s Tight Schedule In Ireland And Scotland

Zimbabwe will travel to Ireland for the five-match T20 Internationals and three-match One-day series. The first T20 international against Ireland will start on 27 August at the Clontarf Cricket Ground in Dublin. The fifth T20I will end by 4 September and it will be followed by a three-match ODI series against Ireland at the Stormont.

The ODI series against Ireland starts on September 8 and ends on 13 September. From there, Zimbabwe will travel to Edinburgh for the three-match T20 International series against Scotland. The series against Scotland starts on 15 September and it will end on 19 September.

Zimbabwe will be looking to better their performances from the series against Bangladesh and this will be a good opportunity for it.
