Gianfranco Zola could be set for a return to management with Watford.
Prospective new Hornets owner Gino Pozzo admits Chelsea legend and former West Ham boss Zola is being lined up for a role at Vicarage Road.
However, Pozzo stopped short of confirming that Zola will replace current manager Sean Dyche, telling gazzetta.it: "There are contacts with Watford, so we'll see. Gianfranco Zola enters in the project, but it's too early to talk about it."
The Pozzo family, who already own Serie A side Udinese and Spanish team Granada, have agreed a deal in principle to buy the npower Championship club.
Replacing Dyche would be a controversial move as he is a popular figure at Watford having enjoyed a successful debut season, guiding the Hornets to 11th, their highest league position in four years, despite operating with one of the Championship's lowest budgets.
