Indianapolis Colts All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson, Tennessee Titans Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown and New England Patriots running back James White were among the NFL’s most notable injuries in Week 3. The defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers briefly lost four-time All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski in the second half of a 34-24 to the Los Angeles Rams.
The New York Giants are hurting in more ways than one. Having three starters leave the game with injuries in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was the physical hurt. The mental anguish was just as bad after the winless Giants (0-3) dropped a 17-14 decision to the Falcons on a 40-yard field goal by Younghoe Koo on the final play of the game.
Andrew Knizner slid across home plate, hopped up and pumped his right arm in jubilation. Make it a very sweet 16 for the St. Louis Cardinals. Knizner scored the go-ahead run on Codi Heuer's wild pitch in the ninth inning, and the Cardinals beat the lowly Chicago Cubs 4-2 on Sunday for their 16th straight victory.
