Chelsea are on a roll, and have been for what seems to be the entirety of the season. The Blues are ten points clear with eleven games left to play, and the title really looks to be theirs barring the most unholy of slip ups. Here's a look at four things the Blues must do in order to secure the Premier League title. In all seriousness, the main reason why any title bid is derailed is injuries. If Chelsea suffered injuries to Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois or Cesar...
Utilise Cesc Fabregas' Uptick in Form
In seasons past, Cesc Fabregas has suffered from burnout in the second half of the year. In Chelsea's first title winning season, the Spaniard scored and assisted 15 goals in the first half of the season but only twice in the second half.
This is a pattern throughout his career, but it should be avoided this time around. The 29-year-old has only played in 18 games this season, with most of his appearances coming off the bench. His legs should be fresh coming down the home stretch, meaning he could be a massive influence in the rest of the campaign.
Keep Diego Costa Happy and Focused
The enigmatic Brazilian has enjoyed yet another turbulent season in west London. On the plus side, he has scored 17 times in the league this season and is well within striking distance of winning the Golden Boot.
But on the flip side, Costa has had his feuds with his manager.
A reported £127m bid from China turned his head back in January and temporarily damaged his form. If the Blues want to win the title, they must make sure that the 28-year-old (who has never truly settled in England) stays content and firing on all cylinders.
Don't Lose at Home to Manchester City
Chelsea's remaining fixtures are not the most difficult, but on April 5th, they have a substantial challenge. Manchester City - the only side with a realistic chance of catching them in the race - visit Stamford Bridge.
The reverse fixture was one of the games of the season. In a fiery game that saw two City players sent off, Chelsea ran out 3-1 winners at the Etihad. This time around, Chelsea don't need three points. But they must not allow Guardiola's men to leave their patch with three points either.
Ban All Their Players From Taking Part in International Friendlies
In all seriousness, the main reason why any title bid is derailed is injuries. If Chelsea suffered injuries to Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois or Cesar Azpilicueta, their attempts to win the Premier League could come to a heartbreaking end.
There is one last round of irritating and meaningless international fixtures coming up in the next week-or-so and the Blues' coaching staff will have everything crossed that their players come home unscathed.
It's much safer to lock them inside Cobham for that two week period.
