Leonardo Spinazzola

Born in: Foligno, Perugia, Italy

Age: 23

Club: Atalanta (on loan from Juventus)

Position: Left midfielder

Spinazzola has so far had a tremendous season with Serie A side Atalanta. The youngster has created four assists for La Dea this campaign, therefore being a vital element for their success in attack. 

This will be his first senior appearance for the Azzurri and he will most likely participate in the friendly match with the Netherlands.

Simone Verdi

Born in: Broni, Pavia, Italy

Age: 24

Club: Bologna

Position: Forward, Attacking midfielder

Verdi made an extraordinary start with Bologna scoring four goals in nine appearances. The No.9 is known as a trequartista, being a talented dribbler and possessing great pace with the the ball. 

He will hope he can get some crucial international experience in this week's two games.

Danilo D’Ambrosio

Born in: Naples, Italy

Age: 28

Club: Inter Milan

Position: Defender, Midfielder 

D’Ambrosio has finally been given the chance to show his hunger to make it to the international stage for the Italian national team. He will hope to get some game time in Italy's next matches. 

The strong and physical playmaker is making his debut for the Azzurri at a mature age, however, he will hope it's the start of something special. 

Andrea Petagna

Born in: Trieste, Italy

Age: 21

Club: Atalanta

Position: Striker

The tall and agile striker will look to get some minutes on the field for Italy later this week. The Italian has been a fine youth product for Atalanta in this season's Serie A, which is why he was picked in Ventura's squad. 

He has an eye for goal and is extremely strong in aerial conditions. Although, Petagna will have tough competition upfront as Andrea Belotti and Ciro Immobile are currently occupying the starting positions. 

Alex Meret

Born in: Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy

Age: 20

Club: SPAL - Serie B (on loan from Udinese)

Position: Goalkeeper

The talented keeper is the only player in the Italian squad that doesn't play for a first division club. On loan from Udinese, Meret has impressed with SPAL in Serie B. He does hold experience in playing on the international stage, however, only the junior ages.

The starlet will probably feature for a small period of time in one of Italy's two matches. It will be hard to cement a spot with Gianluigi Buffon and Donnarumma both currently occupying the role. 

Roberto Gagliardini

Born in: Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy

Age: 22

Club: Inter Milan

Position: Defensive midfielder

Gagliardini is one of the many exciting Italian youngsters impressing football fans in Serie A. He was another Atalanta product that later went on to sign for giants Inter Milan. 

The Nerazzurri player is known for his energetic work in the centre of the pitch and his contribution in attack. He will see this as an excellent opportunity to gain himself a position in the national side for the future.
