Hot Transfer Window Gossip: Rooney 'free to move to China in £700k-a-week deal', Man Utd ' to decide on Lindelof, sign Guedes'
According to the Mirror, he has been offered “a staggering £700,000 a week” to play for two Chinese Super League sides, just a day after the Sun on Sunday reported that he could earn “a staggering £1m a week” by moving to the Far East – which represents a £300,000 wage cut in just 24 hours. The only explanation for this dramatic decrease in (future) salary is that footage has made its way to Beijing of Alan Shearer claiming on this weekend’s Match of the Day that Rooney was such a massive legend that he “would play for £50 a week”.
