These celebrities raked in the most cash in 2017

An expansive lineup spanning film, music, sports and television, the people on the Forbes 100 highest-paid entertainers list earned a combined $5.15 billion over the past 12 months.

No. 10: LeBron James
The jewel of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James led his team to their first NBA title in 2016 and currently has the top salary in the league. He earned $86 million over the last year.

No. 9: James Patterson
The 70-year-old American novelist (pictured here in Florida in 2001) sold 9.5 million copies in his home country alone over the last 12 months, raking in $87 million. He also recieved a purported seven figure sum as a signing payment for co-writing a thriller with former U.S. president Bill Clinton.

Earning $88 million over the last year, the British band (frontman Chris Martin pictured) made over $5 million per city on every stop of their Head Full of Dreams tour.

Another Toronto native, the smooth singer made over $1.1 million for every city on his recent Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour. He made $92 million.

No. 5: Cristiano Ronaldo
The soccer legend was named FIFA’s best player for the fourth time. He collects checks from Real Madrid ($50 million for each of the next four years) and a big Nike endorsement totalling over $1 billion over his lifetime. He took home $94 million.

The Toronto native was the most-streamed artist over the last year and had a good run with his Boy Meets World Tour. He brought in $94 million.

The Harry Potter author penned the best-selling book of 2016 (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and also co-wrote the stage play. She raked in $95 million.

Diddy graced the cover of the first-ever Celebrity 100 issue almost 20 years ago, and thanks to his stake in Ciroc Vodka, his Bab Boy Family Reunion Tour and Sean John clothing line, he’s top of this list with $130 million.
