Commemorating veterans over Memorial Day weekend

Across the United States and around the world, towns and cities commemorate veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and the sacrifices they have made. Memorial Day, which originated after the Civil War,  is an American holiday honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. (Getty Images)
